Ethephon as a potential tool to manage alternate bearing of ‘Fuji’ apple trees

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect different rates ethephon on return bloom and yield, fruit quality ‘Fuji’ apple trees. experiment performed during 2014/2015 2015/2016 growing seasons. Eighteen-year-old Fuji Standard trees grafted M.9 were sprayed with (300 mg L-1, 400 500 L-1) 30 days after full (DAFB) compared an unsprayed control. Yield components (number per tree, weight, estimated yield) attributes (fruit firmness, total soluble solids starch-iodine index) evaluated in both Return (percentage flowering spurs 1-year-shoots) assessed only year following application. Our results show that increases yield ‘Fuji Standard’ trees, without affecting attributes.
